#NOTD #OMBRE

Hello bbloggers!
One thing I love which is no secret is NAIL ART!
I recently went to a nail salon in Amesbury which is close to where I live and had these beautiful nails done which I'd like to share with you.

I'm a massive lover of the effect you get with Shelac, and the fact it can stay on your nails without chipping for 2 weeks is fab! If you're going on your summer holidays or to a festival you no longer need to take loads of nail varnish with you now. A quick trip to the salon for some Shelac and you'll have beautiful nails from when you leave the house until you get home.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Blush

Oh hello there new blusher.. If you've ever tried Estée Lauders blushers in the past you will understand why I have been using them for the last 4 years. They're so pigmented and long lasting which is great, especially for nights out because you don't have to keep re applying make up. Although I still probably do :).

I usually wear Sensious Rose, however when I was in the duty free a few weeks ago I fell in love with the shade Pink Kiss. £25 well spent because the shade is beautiful. I wear Estée Lauders Double Wear foundation as well which works great with this blusher.

I would advise building this blusher up slowly as it is very pigmented and the results won't be pretty. The lady at the duty free counter applied this blusher onto me and left me looking like a menopausal woman having a hot flush , which on that particular day wasn't the look I was going for.

Are you a big Lauder fan like I am? If so I would love to hear what products of theirs are your holy grail.

Naked 3 featuring @cohorted

Hello there lovelies!
I'm quite excited about this post today because it's about a product I've been lusting after for a while. The naked 3 which is a staple to a lot of bbloggers make up kits is simply amazing. I snapped this up for £18.50 ( yes you read correctly) from www.cohorted.co.uk. Basically how this website works is the more people that buy the cheaper the product is.That's how I managed to snap the Naked 3 palette up with 50% off. I would recommend this website to all beauty lovers who love a bargain.

The shades in the palette are perfect for me. I tend to be boring and always wear brown or pale pink eye shadow so I'll definitely get a lot of use out of the Naked 3.
If anyone has any tutorials using this palette, send the links my way! :)

YSL Lipstick review

Hello there :)

Here is my latest lippie addition. I've realised that YSL lipsticks are like buses. You don't get one for ages, and then two come at once. Not that I'm complaing mind.

I went for shade 15 when I was feeling very brave on holiday. I am forever wearing pink lipsticks so I figured it was time for a change and decided on this beautiful coral shade.

As you can see the colour is really vibrant so it wasn't a surprise that I was a tad nervous wearing it at first. It applies really smoothly and looks gorgeous on, especially with a bit of a tan.
Like I said in my other YSL lipstick review, the packaging and attention to detail are simply stunning and luxurious looking. No brand come close to YSL when it comes to the packaging. I love it.
What lipstick shades are you going to be rocking this SS?

Mini Nail Polish Haul!

Hello there lovelies!

The weather has turned slightly depressing again so one way I'm trying to brighten up my day is by painting my nails with these beautiful shades from Barry M and Rimmel.

The Silk and Aquamarine are Barry M's latest releases. The silk colours are so pretty and perfect for spring. The aquamarine range they brought out is also brilliant. At first I wasn't too keen on the colours because I thought they were more suitable for winter, but that didn't stop me purchasing one. And I doubt it will stop me purchasing more!

Now, the Rita Ora for Rimmel collection. I've been wearing this shade non stop since purchasing it. It's definitely my favourite colour polish to wear at the moment. I would be a very happy girl if I had all the polishes from this range. You'll understand why if you look at the image below.

The lip crayons are also fab. I've been trying number 220 rumour has it for the last week and I must say that I'm so pleased with it. Review of this will be up in the next few days.
I really wish they would stop bringing out new shades all the time because I always feel the need to own then. I think it's time I went on a nail varnish spending ban! Can anyone else sympathise with my nail polish obsession?

Yummy Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies

These brownies have gone down like a storm. They're messy, gooey and god damn tasty! This was the first batch I've ever made and I think it's fair to say I will be making them a lot more from now until Easter.

Ingredients

185g unsalted butter
185g dark chocolate
40g cocoa powder
85g plain flour
3 eggs
275g caster sugar
5 creme eggs ( you can use more/less if you want)

Firstly, preheat the oven to 180 (gas mark 4). Whilst the ovens heating up you can get on with the prep work.
Melt the chocolate and butter together in a bowl over a pan of hot water, stirring occasionally. Whilst that's melting, mix together the 3 eggs and sugar with an electric whisk on a high speed until you have a mousse like consistency. This should take 2-3 minutes. Once your chocolate and butter have melted, add them to a separate bowl with the melted chocolate and butter, and then combine it all together. Sift in the flour and cocoa powder and gently fold in -

If you have a proper brownie tin that's great, use it. If not, any square tin will do like the one I used. Pour the mix in and then whack it in the oven for 15 minutes

Whilst the brownie is baking, start halving the Creme Eggs. This is a skill I tell you. I found it easier if you use a serrated knife. It doesn't matter if the eggs aren't cut exactly in half because it's quite a messy bake anyway.

Let the brownie bake for a further 10 minutes until they are completely done and nice and gooey.

Portion the brownie up and then you're ready to serve. I can't express how good these taste so you'll have to bake some for yourself to see. If you do, let me know how you get on.
Enjoy

Gladiator Sandals

Well well well, what do we have here? Only the Curly wurly blogs first fashion post, that's what! I thought I'd start off small and from the bottom (literally) with SHOES!

I'm going on holiday in just under a fortnight and desperately need a new pair of sandals. These are the 3 pairs that have caught my eye that I can't decide between!

I'm a big fan of the gladiator sandal as you can see, and would like to purchase them all however my purse is saying no! I really like the style of the River Island sandals because they remind me of shoes that I used to wear with a summer dress in primary school. I think if I opted for the white pair I'd be tempted to wear a pair of frilly socks with them (strong look). I think I'm leaning more towards the middle pair because they've got a bit of a heel on them which is always a winner when you're slightly on the small side.

What do you guys think? Help me decide which pair to get :)

Love is in the air and on our nails

Ok so I've already done one valentines day nail art post, but I thought I'd share these with you as well. For anyone that doesn't get roses for valentines day this year, just paint some on your nails instead! They'll probably last longer too :)

Hope that you like them!

Need some valentines nail art inspo?

Valentines day is just around the corner as you all know because it's being pushed down our throat wherever we look (sorry I sound a little bitter there don't I)? I'm not. I have a boyfriend, but like many I just think Valentines Day is a bit pointless?
One thing I do like about Valentines day though is that it seems to get peoples creative juices flowing, with lots of people posting makeup and nail art tutorials.

Anyone who reads my blog will know I'm a huge nail art fan so it will come as no surprise that I'm doing a Valentines Day nail art special for all you romantics out there. Actually you don't have to be a romantic to appreciate this post, you just need to like lovehearts, roses , and a pink and red colour theme.

First up is this easy look I created.

These are generic colour everyone has in their nail polish collection so you don't necessarily need to use the exact ones I did. It's a really easy design to create that looks quite good in my opinion. What do you think?

Now maybe this next design is aimed more towards the romantic folk out there. Nothing says romance like a stick man and a stick woman with a few hearts thrown in.

Look, the little stick people are in love!!! <3 <3 .

Let me know if you want any nail art ideas!

Do you love a YSL lipstick too?

This little beauty is the latest addiction to the Ceri Jones lipstick collection. It was welcomed by some Chanel, Dior, MAC and Rimmel lipstick friends, however it hasn't been in my make up bag long enough to mingle with them because I've constantly got it in my hand staring at it. This has got to be one of the most luxurious looking lipsticks ever, so can you blame me? The packaging really is stunning with the YSL logo engraved on the outside of the case.
I've been lusting after a YSL lipstick for about a year so when I finally got one I was a tad excited. This colour stood out so much from all the other lipsticks, and as I'm a lover of bright pink lips, this shade is perfect for me.

Things that I like in a lipstick are that they are highly pigmented, moisturising, and have a nice shine finish to them. The YSL Rouge Volupté Shine collection do just that. I wouldn't say they were very long lasting, but with this lipstick I don't mind pulling it out my bag every half hour to re apply because it's just so beautiful!

 - Rouge Volupté Shine , Fuchsia in Excess

I really only have positive things to say about this lipstick, and I'm sure anyone else who owns one would agree.

Have you tried any YSL lipsticks? If so what are your favourite shades?

*NEW* Collection Nude Eye Palette

Hi everyone!

I'm going to post today about the new Collection eye palette, which is on offer at the moment for £3.50.
While there is still a lot of hype around THAT eyeshadow palette, I thought i'd review something that hasn't got the £37 price tag.

So here it is.....

There are 3 lighter shades, 2 medium shades, 3 darker shades and 1 highlighter. For the price, they're great. They last well on the eyes and I would definitely use this collection to create some day time looks.

As you can see, the packaging is not in anyway fancy or glamourous. It's definitely not an item you would proudly display on your dressing table.

On the back of the product there is a step by step guide guide on how to use the eyeshadows, which is great if you want some tips on how to apply the make up correctly. I wish I had a few step by step guides when I first started using make up so that I could have avoided the many disasters that occoured (most involving bright green eyeshadow). The highlighter that comes in the set is actually quite good and I think I'll be using that a fair bit in the future.

I've noticed lately how collection have upped their game and are bringing out some great new affordable makeup. My love for this brand is growing so much at the moment.

Overall I think this is a fab little eye palette with a purse friendly price. I think collection is definitely a brand you need to keep your eye on for a few beauty bargains!

Revlon Nail Art

Hello there lovely people.

I really need to stop posting about nails, so I promise this will be the last one for a while (maybe).

I picked up these Revlon nail varnishes for £1 each when I was out shopping which was an absolute bargain. I did purchase them thinking that the coloured ends were going to be a tool to do nail art so I was a bit disappointed when I discovered it was in fact a brush, but for £1 I can't really complain. So, here are the colours I picked up.

The three colours are great and will fit in nicely with the rest of my nail varnish collection. My favourite colour out of the three is the green. I've got a bit of an obsession with green nails at the moment , especially pastel shades.

I had a play around and this is what I've created using the three colours above .

I quite like this look. For a first attempt it's not too bad and I think I'll probably try and do my nails like this for the weekend.

So what do you think? Let me know or like on bloglovin' .

Chanel Nails

Anyone who reads my blog will notice that there is a bit of a Barry M obsession going on when it comes to nail polish. Everynow and again I will branch out and use different brands, but it doesn't take long until I'm back to the old Barry M's.

My guilty pleasures are Chanel polishes (and lipsticks) but rarely make the £18 spend for one because you can get really good quality polishes for under £5 in boots.  Here is one of my favourites though from Chanel. Splendeur 217.

One coat and you're ready. This polish isn't like others where you need 2-3 coats on for your nails to look half decent. You really can get away with just the one coat. Perfect.

It applies onto the nail really smoothly, and last a about 2 days before it starts to chip. To be honest I'm not really one that is bothered about how long lasting a nail varnish is because I probably re do my nails every other day anyway. However I will say when you're paying a lot more for a polish than you would at a drugstore, the nails should be able to go more than 2 days without chipping. What you do get with this brand is high quality, lovely packaging and compliments every time you wear it.

Have you tried any Chanel Polishes? If so, what's your favourite colour?

Polka Dots

What do you do when you can't decide what colour to paint your nails? You paint each nail a different colour of course!!

I'm rocking some very summery nails at the moment. You can't beat a bright colour with some polka dots on top, especially when it's so wet and cold outside.

As always, I've used polishes from the Barry M Gelly range (after all they are my favourite) and I've also used Sally Hansen (thumb) and Avon (little finger) polishes.

This is a simple and quick design to do on your nails. I'll often go for polka dot nails if I'm going out and I'm short of time because it literally only takes a few minutes to do. I hate just having one colour of polish on at the moment, so this is something I do if I haven't got much time, or I'm just lacking in creativity.

Ted Baker

I'm new to Ted Baker products, but it's fair to say I am now 100% addicted after receiving the set below for Christmas.

Within the set was a body wash, Bubble bath, hand cream, body soufflé , body lotion and a body scrub. The packaging of the butterfly range looks great, and the contents smell even better.

From the word go, the hand lotion went straight into my bag and probably comes out about 2-3 times a day. I've become slightly obsessed with applying hand cream on throughout the day now thanks to Ted Baker.

The body soufflé is scented with Sandalwood, rose and vanilla. Off the top of your head I doubt you can imagine what that smells like, that's why you need to dash out to Boots ASAP to try it for yourself.

The body wash and body scrub are scented with bergamot, red fruit, tuberose and patchouli. The elegant scent is also left on your skin for hours after washing. The body scrub has become my favourite and has taken over from the soap and glory scrubs I used to love.

Whilst I was in Boots, I picked up a travel size version of the body spray which is great for keeping in your  handbag. There is no excuse for all those social butterflies to not freshen up during the day now.

Nails nails nails

Today's nails in 5 minutes ....

As you can see from the photo, I've used Barry M and Rimmel polishes. These are both brands that I love and they have a fantastic range of polish colours for you to choose from. I can literally spend hours in a drugstore looking and nail polish.
The lilac Barry M is very on trend for SS14, and if you don't own it, I suggest you do. It's one of my favourites from the Gelly range.
I also love the glitter topcoat I've used by Rimmel. It gives a lovely finish without being OTT.

A new primer?!!

Applying a primer is weirdly my favourite thing to do when I'm putting make up on. I've only ever used the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm , MAC and Smashbox primers in the past, with The Clarins Beauty Flash Balm being my ultimate favourite.

When I was in Boots the other week I saw that Maybelline had a new primer (mainly because the packaging was so bright) and decided I'd try it for day time use to save wearing Clarins to work.

I think I need to firstly add how this primer feels like silk when you apply it onto your face. You only need to use a pea sized amount for a good coverage of your face. My pores were less visible instantly and my face felt really soft (baby skin soft). I use an Estée Lauder foundation which is very hard wearing anyway even without a primer. I was a bit disappointed  that the Maybelline baby skin doesn't keep the foundation in place as well as the Clarins Flash balm, but as a cheap alternative for daytime use, it is pretty good. I'll continue using this primer during the day for now, however when this tube runs out, I doubt I'll re purchase unless it's on special offer.
During my trip to Boots, I also purchased the Maybelline eraser eye which I'll do a review on after I've given it a few more uses.

What's your favourite nail varnish brand?

Hello there! It's been about 3 days since I last painted my nails ( probably a record for me) and as I'm putting off writing an assignment, what better reason to re polish!
My boyfriend went to America and brought me back some OPI nail varnish (winner) and this is my favourite one, the silver shatter

I've used the Barry M crackle range in the past, but the OPI shatter range is 10 times better (well it is OPI so what do you expect). I like how this polish doesn't have a matte finish unlike previous crackles I've tried out in the past. This one has a lovely high shine finish, even without a top coat.

At the moment I'm currently using a blue Barry M Gelly polish as my base colour, which works really well with the silver. I'm quite interested to see what other colours will look fab with a silver shatter, any suggestions?

Tigi Honey and Oatmeal shampoo and conditioner

Today's review is on the Tigi Honey and Oatmeal shampoo and conditioner. Firstly, I must add that this shampoo smells amazing. Not only is your hair left feeling silky smooth, it also smells beautiful.

The shampoo
It lathers up really well which means you don't need to use a lot. I have quite long hair so end up using quite a lot of shampoo. After just one use my hair felt less dry and more nourished. I really can't rave about this product enough.

Now onto the conditioner, which is quite perfect. It's really light and moisturises your hair beautifully. I suffer from a fair few tangles ( curly hair problems) but this conditioner helps ease them out without making my cry with pain. After discovering this I could have done a little dance in the shower I was that happy. Girls with curly hair everywhere can relate to this, detangling the locks is not a fun activity. Trust me though, this conditioner does help.

Overall I am really happy with this product and would reccomend it mainly to people with dry hair that needs a bit of nourishment. It's available from most hairdressers or do some digging online to grab a bargain.

Is it summer yet?!!

I'm definitely not the only one who is wishing summer would hurry up. I'm going on holiday next month so I've decided to get into the holiday spirit and what better way to do this than with a bit of nail art!

I absolutely love Barry M nail varnishes, especially the Gelly range. This blue ( Blueberry 249) is definitely going to be a coulour I will use a lot over the summer months.
